Matt had a great time hanging with his all star team. They didn't get too far in the tournament, but sure had a great time with the extended season. Better luck next year boys!

Sarah's Sweet Sixteen Surprises and.......... Happy Birthday Paul!

Happy Birthday to Sarah and Paul who share the same birthday on July 7th. It is hard to see any limelight when your birthday is the same day as your daughter's, but this year Paul really took a backseat since it was sweet sixteen for Sarah. Next year the roles will reverse, since Paul will be starting his descent "over the hill" as he reaches the big 5...0! Thanks Paul for being such a good sport, and thanks to Janie Matheson and Becca Urry for helping to make the surprises happen. We had such a great time celebrating Sarah and her birthday!

I'm not sure how Uncle Sam would feel about this impostor, but we sure had a great laugh. Fortunately for all of us, Jake wore the whole costume in the parade :). This family tradition has been enjoyed for about nineteen years. We meet in Grandma/pa Shields' driveway and decorate the bikes and wagons and then head down Evergreen Ave. to join the parade. We had quite the group this year.

Tired Boy...

While we were at Trek Matthew had a great time with his LaCrosse team at a tournament in Park City. He stayed with his cousin Nathan, who is also on the team and had a blast. All the fun finally caught up to him!

Happy Birthday Again...

Since we were on Trek for Jake's birthday we had to celebrate again with the traditional breakfast in bed. Jake said it was the best birthday breakfast he had ever had. Everytime I tried to take his picture his eyes were closed, I was getting frustrated and then realized he was just teasing me...so here's Jake with eyes wide shut! Later that night we headed to Pat's BBQ for some ribs and gifts (Pokemon Soulful Silver for the DS and Super Mario Bros. for the Wii) then home for creme brulee. Happy Birthday Jake!
