What a blessing it has been to have Tyler a part of our family. He is such a great example to all of us, and is the big brother everyone wants to have. Happy Birthday Tyler, thanks for letting us celebrate with you!

Tired Boy...

While we were at Trek Matthew had a great time with his LaCrosse team at a tournament in Park City. He stayed with his cousin Nathan, who is also on the team and had a blast. All the fun finally caught up to him!

Happy Birthday Again...

Since we were on Trek for Jake's birthday we had to celebrate again with the traditional breakfast in bed. Jake said it was the best birthday breakfast he had ever had. Everytime I tried to take his picture his eyes were closed, I was getting frustrated and then realized he was just teasing me...so here's Jake with eyes wide shut! Later that night we headed to Pat's BBQ for some ribs and gifts (Pokemon Soulful Silver for the DS and Super Mario Bros. for the Wii) then home for creme brulee. Happy Birthday Jake!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Bless Lauren's heart! She saved me and made her dad's favorite pie, coconut cream! I am so grateful for our sweet daughter who not only can cook, but is a computer techy as well. For her dad's father's day gift, she took all of our videos and pictures and made DVD's complete with index and still photos! Truly an effort of love and a gift we will all treasure for a lifetime. Thanks Lauren and Tyler!

Happy Father's Day! For your gift, we now have a family blog! Thanks to Lauren for her patience and perserverence in teaching her mother some new skills! I'm still a little slow, but hopefully this will help us remember the great memories we will continue to make together. I love you!

Jacob Ordained a Teacher

A great blessing for all involved; Jacob was ordained a teacher by his father on Father's Day. Jacob also received his deacon Duty to God certificate. We are so proud of you Jake!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PARTNER

Jake enjoyed his 14th birthday on Pioneer Trek. We brought doughnuts for him and his trek family to enjoy. I bet his trek family sang happy birthday to him at least 10 times. An unusual, but awesome birthday. We bought most of our trek clothes at the D.I. Jacob is especially proud of his pioneer "Pizza Hut" shirt!

Here is the Shields Pioneer Trek crew! Grandpa Shields came as the Patriarch of our stake and was a member of the medical team. The Bishops were trek walkers and storytellers.

Showbiz Sarah!

Sarah has been taking voice lessons all year and had her final recital. She was in many of the performances, but had a solo piece where she sang "Reflections" from Mulon. It was beautiful!

Math Olympiad!

The fifth grade had a math competition where they took a series of tests and Matthew ended up tying for third place! He definitely has his dad's math brains! We are so proud of you Matt!
